Carlos Edriel Yulo, the first man to win gold in any Olympic event for the Philippines, just won his second gold medal at the Paris Olympics

Carlos Edriel Yulo, the very first man to win a gold medal in any Olympic event for the Philippines, just won his second gold medal! 

On Saturday, his score of 15.000 won him gold in the men’s gymnastics floor final — this was very first medal in gymnastics of any color for for the Philippines and the first gold for any man from the Philippines. 

Today, he won another gold in the men’s gymnastics vault final with a final score of 15.116. This means the Philippines has a total of two Olympic gymnastics medals ever — both are gold and both won by Carlos.

According to several reports, Carlos is set to receive 10 million (~$173k USD) in cash, a fully furnished home worth over 24 million (~$415k USD), free food for a lifetime, and much more.

Hidilyn Diaz was the first to ever win a gold medal for the Philippines when she won gold in the women's 55 kg category for weightlifting at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
