Constance Wu shares her journey to healing in a candid discussion with ‘Red Table Talk’

Constance Wu is back and she’s sharing her journey from hurt to healing. In a candid interview, Constance sits down with the hosts of Red Table Talk to discuss *those tweets* and what actually happened before and after.

In the conversation, Willow Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Dr. Nadia Kim suggest that we put too much pressure on Asian American celebrities to be perfect because we have such low representation.

“She wasn’t allowed to have an emotion in this way,” says Kim Tran, Ph.D. “This is probably going to be a moment of reflection for Asian America about who the real target of our anger is and should be.”

Constance also discusses the shame and guilt that is so often a characteristic of our community. “I feel the disapproval but rather than being blatant, the silence of how much people reached out to me before, pre-tweet versus post-tweet. And you can tell. The silence has an effect,” Constance says. “We need to hold each other accountable but with support.”
