"Everything Everywhere All At Once," Michelle Yeoh, and Ke Huy Quan make history at the SAG Awards

“Everything Everywhere All At Once” just made history at the Screen Actors Guild Awards with the most wins by a single film at the awards show ever. The film swept four major categories, winning for Outstanding Cast in a Motion Picture, Outstanding Actress in a Leading Role (Michelle Yeoh), Outstanding Actor in a Supporting Role (Ke Huy Quan), and Outstanding Actress in a Supporting Role (Jamie Lee Curtis).

✨Both Michelle and Ke made history by becoming the first Asian actors to win in their respective categories.

“This is not just for me, this is for every little girl that looks like me,” Michelle said in her acceptance speech. “I am grateful and my mom will be eternally grateful to you.”

“This is a really emotional moment for me. Recently, I was told that if I were to win tonight, I would become the very first Asian actor to win in this category. When I heard this, I quickly realized that this moment no longer belongs to just me. It also belongs to everyone who has asked for change. When I stepped away from acting, it was because there were so few opportunities,” Ke said in his acceptance speech. “To all those at home, who are watching, who are struggling and waiting to be seen, keep on going because the spotlight will one day find you. Thank you everyone for rooting for me, I will be rooting for you.”

Jamie Lee Curtis ended her acceptance speech by continuing to be Michelle Yeoh’s biggest cheerleader. Jamie recounted the moment she agreed to the role before even reading the script, simply because Michelle was in the film.
