Father and son chase after three men who robbed their Thai restaurant

On Thanksgiving morning around 4 a.m., three men from L.A. County broke into Thai Tuk Tuk, a restaurant in Corona, California. Security cameras show two men breaking into the restaurant while another camera shows a third man taking cash from the register.

Detectives say the building landlord was alerted by the alarm and went to the restaurant to try and intervene. That’s when the men pointed a gun to her head and then tried to kidnap her by dragging her into their car. Luckily, she managed to escape.

Moments later, the restaurant owner and his son showed up at the restaurant. “When we got here — they were in the process of getting in their car and leaving already. Right then, we decided to follow them,” the restaurant owner’s son said to NBC4.

Because the son called the police and gave them turn-by-turn directions during the chase, police were at the scene when the robbers exited their car on the freeway — all three men were arrested but names have not been released.

Thai Tuk Tuk has now been burglarized three times. “We were a victim of a theft before. So basically, we just don't want to be victims again. It just felt like the right thing to do, you know? You gotta go after them sometimes,” the restaurant owner’s son said.

The restaurant owner and his son have asked to remain anonymous for fear of their safety.

On Google, Thai Tuk Tuk has glowing reviews with a 4.5-star average. “Consistently super food. Have been to Thailand numerous times and this place is 100% authentic. Corona’s best kept secret,” said one diner. If you’re ever in the area, check them out!
