At last night’s 96th Academy Awards, Michelle Yeoh presented Emma Stone with the Oscar for Best Actress for her performance in ‘Poor Things.’ Many viewers, however, were quick to express outrage as it seemed Emma did not properly acknowledge or embrace Michelle who made history as the first Asian to win Best Actress last year.
Now, Michelle has clarified what actually happened. “Congratulations Emma!! I confused you,” Michelle said on Instagram. “But I wanted to share that glorious moment of handing over Oscar to you together with your best friend Jennifer!! She reminded me of my Bae Jamie Lee Curtis ♥️✨ always there for each other!! 😘😘😘”
