Republican Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina suggests that Chinese college students studying in the U.S. might be spies

Republican Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina suggests that Chinese college students studying in the U.S. might be spies.

"We have 300,000 Chinese students on college campuses across this country. I am concerned that we are more interested in their tuition than we are to whether they are reporting back to the Chinese Communist Party,” Scott said.

Scott goes on to say, “I think to be an American you have to assimilate to what it means to be an American. If you’re not willing to assimilate and acclimate, you ought not come.”

Tim Scott has been a U.S. Senator since 2013 and is currently running for President.
