Roy Choi joins Meghan, Duchess of Sussex on her new show ‘With Love, Meghan’ for Korean fried chicken, kimchi, and an important history lesson about MSG

Chef Roy Choi joined Meghan, Duchess of Sussex on her new Netflix show ‘With Love, Meghan’ where they made kimchi, an assortment of Korean pickles (jangajji), Asian sauces, and fried chicken.

As they make a dry salt for the fried chicken, Meghan says she remembers in the 90s how people would always say "No MSG!” when ordering food. This gave Roy the opportunity to give an important history lesson about MSG and racism in America. Props to Meghan and her team for leaving this important discussion in the final cut of the episode.

The eight-episode series also features Asian guests like celebrity makeup artist Daniel Martin, actress Mindy Kaling, and Tatcha co-founder Vicky Tsai.
