‘Squid Game’ made history at last night’s 74th Emmy Awards
‘Squid Game’ just made history at last night’s 74th Emmy Awards. After racking up 14 nominations, becoming the first non-English language series to be nominated for outstanding drama series, the show walked away with the following awards.
🏆 Lee Jung-jae | Lead Actor in a Drama Series
Lee made history by becoming the first Asian man to ever win this award and the first to win it for a non-English speaking role.

Hwang also makes history with the first non-English series to win this award. “I truly hope ‘Squid Game’ won’t be the last non-English series to be here at the Emmys,” Hwang said in his acceptance speech. “And I hope this won’t be my last Emmys, either! I’ll be back with season two!”
Additionally, ‘Squid Game’ won four Creative Arts Emmys on Sunday including Lee You-mi’s win for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series, alongside Outstanding Special Video Effects, Outstanding Stunt Performance and Outstanding Production Design.
