‘The Princess Diaries 3’ has been confirmed with Adele Lim set to direct; Will Sandra Oh reprise her role as Vice Principal Gupta?

Buckle up, we’re headed back to Genovia! The Princess Diaries 3 has been confirmed with Adele Lim (Joy Ride, Raya and the Last Dragon, Crazy Rich Asians) set to direct.

“As a diehard fan of the original Princess Diaries, I’m beyond excited to be a part of bringing the third iteration of this beloved franchise to life,” Adele said in a statement to Deadline.  We look forward to celebrating its core tenants of female power, joy and mentorship with audiences worldwide.”

Anne Hathaway has confirmed she will return as Mia Thermopolis and as a producer. Sandra Oh was missing from The Princess Diaries 2 but could the third installment see her return as Vice Principal Geraldine Gupta?

In a statement to Entertainment Weekly, Sandra Oh previously said she would love to reprise her role. "I am ready for the Queen. Call me! I'm dying to see how Gupta has moved up in the world," Sandra said.

And in a separate statement to People, Sandra doubled down on her wish to return as Vice Principal Gupta saying, "Yeah, that would be hilarious. Are you kidding? Sure. Yeah!”

Only time will tell if Sandra reprises her iconic role but regardless, “The Queen is coming!”
