According to the Willamson County Police, Daniel Logan, a 39-year-old man from Georgetown, TX, has been charged with two first-degree felonies: injury to a child and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon against a family member. Authorities say a motive has not yet been determined.

On September 11, detectives say Logan forced entry into his neighbor’s home and assaulted two individuals with a baseball bat. One victim was Logan’s own mother who was trying to stop Logan from attacking the family. As she chased him into the neighbor’s house, Logan reportedly turned around and hit her in the face with the bat.

The other victim is Jeremy who is only 6-years-old and who is now fighting for his life. According to CBS Austin, “a detective was told by medical staff at Dell Children’s ‘the child suffered multiple fractures to his brain and extensive brain swelling consistent with blunt force trauma.’”

"I saw my 6-year-old laying in a pool of blood," Jeremy’s father told KVUE ABC. "He was hit in the back of his head, shattered the back of his skull into pieces. Now, I am just told by the ICU that he is not gonna make it." More than a week after the attack, Jeremy remains in the hospital and his future is uncertain.

"He spoke fluent Chinese and was studying Chinese characters, played piano and was a role model, a hero to his younger brother," Jeremy’s father told Austin American-Statesman

Before Jeremy went to bed the night of the attack, he told his mother he couldn’t wait to start the week because he was so excited to return to his jiu-jitsu training and tie the belt.

Jeremy’s father and a family friend have organized a GoFundMe to help with Jeremy’s ongoing medical costs. Click below to donate and leave words of encouragement.
