Dear Beautiful Asian Men,
You have the right to be seen.
You have the right to be sexy.
You have the right to be funny.
You have the right to set the tone for a room. You have the right to be desired.
Going trough these auditions I see how the world makes you move trough it as a reader of tone, forces to follow, forced to side-kick. More than once I gave the note to have “privilege” and I witnessed transformation that thrilled and broke my heart. There is not a shortage of talent — there has been a shortage of our collective belief in you and ourselves.

The hurtful and false stereotypes about Asian men are still ever-present in American media, culture, and daily conversation. We don’t acknowledge and discuss this enough.
