Patti Yasutake, known for her roles in ‘Star Trek’ and ‘Beef,’ has passed away

Patti Yasutake has passed away at the age of 70 following a battle with cancer.

Born in Gardena, California, Patti rose to fame with her role as Umeki in ‘Gung Ho.’ Most notably, Patti was known as Nurse Alyssa Ogawa in the ‘Star Trek’ series/films and as Fumi in the Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning ‘Beef.’  

Her manager Kyle Fritz said in a statement, “Patti was my first client when I began over 30 years ago. We enjoyed every day we got to work together, and I will miss her spirit talent and tenacity but most of all her friendship.”

Lee Sung Jin, creator of ‘Beef’ paid tribute on Instagram saying, “Thank you for everything, Patti. We were so lucky to have been in your joyful presence. You led by example and taught us so much. I wish I had called more. We miss you and love you.”
