Quan Hongchan wins gold (again) at the Paris Olympics

This is the level of casually cool, effortlessly excellent I aspire to be.

On the left, you see 17-year-old Quan Hongchan of China scoring a perfect 10 on her first dive at the Paris Olympics during the women's 10m platform diving competition. She went on to win gold for the second time with a total score of 425.60; previously, she won gold in the same event at the Tokyo Olympics when she was just 14-years-old.

Her dives are said to be so flawless that she’s been given a phrase in Mandarin, "shui hua xiao shi shu,” which translates to "water splash disappearance technique."

On the right, you see Quan at a press conference after winning gold, casually drinking a Powerade while wearing Olympic sunglasses.

Quan took up diving at an early age to help her mother who is sick. “I want to make enough money to support her,” Quan said through an interpreter.

The Olympic champion has become a huge global star not only for her talent but for her charisma and positive personality.
