USA takes bronze medal in men’s gymnastics team final; USA’s first team medal since 2008

🇺🇸 For the first time since 2008, Team USA has earned a team medal in the men’s gymnastics all-around final. Team members included Frederick Richard, Brody Malone, Paul Juda, Stephen Nedoroscik, and Asher Hong. 

🥉 With a final score of 257.793, Team USA won bronze, winning a team medal for the first time in 16 years. Japan took home gold with a final score of 259.594, while China took silver with a final score of 259.062.

Team USA’s score was bolstered by Asher who delivered a massive 14.833 on vault. Asher’s vault score was the highest for Team USA, pushing Team USA’s total vault score (44.032) above Japan (43.433) and China (42.099).

Asher is of Chinese descent and this was his Olympic debut.
