Wisconsin school district rejects book about Japanese American concentration camps

The Muskego-Norway School District in Wisconsin has banned a historical fiction novel about Japanese American concentration camps from being taught to 10th grade Accelerated English students.

Jessie Santala tells the story of her grandparents, Frank and Jean Kinoshita, who were incarcerated in U.S. Japanese concentration camps

In memory of Frank Kozo Kinoshita (born in Japan, 1903-1979) and Yoshimi Jean Kinoshita (born in Washington, 1919-2012), their granddaughter shares the story of their time in a concentration camp.
